Crystal has had a rough start to her life. She was offered to us by a veterinarian who said to come and pick her up before the vet left for the evening or Crystal was going to be put down. Crystal had been left for two months without food and water. The vet said we could have her at the cost of the operation she needed for a herniated umbilical cord. The first 24 hours were the most critical. Experiencing food and water for the first time in two months could put her body into shock and kill her. Her growth was stunted. At the time we received her she was 7 months old and looked 2 months old. The "girls" named her Crystal. (Webmaster's note: I nicknamed her Crystal Lite.)
