Programs

With horses…
  • Rescue – Locate and obtain abused, neglected and unwanted horses with the permission of the owner.

  • Restore – Provide a thorough health check, and provide necessary veterinary care to return horses to medical health.

  • Rehabilitate – Provide shelter, food, loving care, rest, and appropriate exercise to return horses to optimal physical condition consistent with the horses' age and potential ability.

  • Retrain – Teach/re-teach the horse using non-aggressive methodology to perform as a safe, enjoyable horse. Often horses who have been abused or neglected learn or acquire bad habits or behaviors.

  • Relocate – Find suitable owners who understand the history of the horse and can demonstrate the ability to become a responsible horse owner.

With people…

  • Respect – Teaching respect for animals often translates into respect for others. Respecting animals for their value to man, works toward ending animal abuse.

  • Responsibility – An education program to teach potential future horse owners and/or riders the proper care, feeding, nurturing and training components of horsemanship.

  • Recreation – Provide an opportunity for the public to learn the benefits of a healthy enjoyable relationship with a properly cared for horse.

  • Resources – Provide needed information on the importance of providing material and volunteer resources needed to carry out the programs and mission of Rescue Ranch.
